Puan Hayati Binti Man (74), a dedicated household cleaner, moved to Penang with her disabled son after the heartbreaking loss of her husband. They stayed in a small house owned by a friend without any rental. Struggling to make ends meet, they rely primarily on her late husband’s pension and her son’s social aid for survival. Recently, Puan Hayati’s eyesight has begun to deteriorate, adding another layer of hardship to her already challenging life. In search of assistance, she reached out to LCGTM, hoping for medical aid to restore her vision and secure a better future for herself and her son. The Lions Club of George Town Mutiara proudly presented Thean Oon Senior Home with its inaugural Automated External Defibrillator (AED) last year.

The three additional AED units were installed at Taman Jajar, Sungai Ara. This location was chosen due to its popularity with morning and evening activities.
On March 1, 2025, the project took place. The launch of the AED involved the placement of three iconic AED symbols on the map indicating the locations where the AEDs were installed. This placement ceremony was carried out by Datuk Bandar Dato’ Ir. Rajendran P. Anthony, Mayor of Penang, the CEO of Pantai Hospital Penang, Mr. Pan Wen Lek and Chairman of Lions GTM Medical Fund, PDG Dato’ Khoo Kay Huat. En Farhan, YB Sim's Representative, also attended. The CEO delivered his speech, followed by our Club Project Chairman, CP Danny Lim KT.
The 4-hour event also featured health screenings, blood tests, and hypertension checks, along with a Zumba aerobic session that attracted over a hundred participants. The occasion concluded with a series of lucky draws.
