Mdm Poon(76), a single lady with hearing impairment, was facing another challenge when her eyesight began to fail. Dependent on social welfare assistance and modest earnings from selling plants she gathers near her home, cataract surgery was far beyond her means.

When she reached out for help, the Lions Club of George Town Mutiara stepped in. After careful assessment, we supported her cataract operation and recommended to Pantai Hospital Penang help realized her dream come true.

On 4 March, Past President Dato Khoo, PP Lily Teoh, Dr. Ho Phuay Har, and the Pantai Hospital Penang Senior Leadership Team visited her during her recovery.

With renewed sight and hope, Mdm Poon expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the hospital and the Lions for restoring not only her vision but also her confidence and dignity.
