25/5/2026 Another Sight Saved

25/5/2026 Another Sight Saved
LCGTM received an appeal for medical assistance from Mr. Krishnan, aged 66, a retired general worker. PP Ganeson, aware of his situation, brought the matter to the club's attention.

A home visit and interview were subsequently conducted at his flat. Mr. Krishnan (66yo) previously worked at a government clinic. He is married and lives with his wife who is a housewife, in a two-room low-cost flat in Farlim.
At present, Mr. Krishnan depends solely on his pension to support their daily living expenses. Due to blurred vision caused by cataract problems, he is no longer able to work and supplement the household income. His health condition has also deteriorated over time. With limited financial resources, Mr. Krishnan appealed to the club for financial assistance to undergo cataract treatment, with the hope of regaining his eyesight and returning to work to support his family. The couple has two married daughters, both housewives with families of their own, and they are unable to provide substantial financial assistance.
With the information in hand, the club sought the assistance of Pantai Hospital Penang, and the surgery was carried out successfully.

The Lions, along with Mr. Pan, the CEO of Pantai Hospital Penang, and Mr Low Xian Deputy CEO, and staff, called on Mr. Krishnan before he was discharged from the hospital.
Krishnan conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to the LCGTM and PHP, especially the ophthalmology, Dr. Yew Yih Chian, and nurses for their kindness and assistance.
