5/7/2026 Dragon Boat & Dumpling Festival

We are honoured that Lions Club of George Town Mutiara (LCGTM) was invited to be the co-organiser of the Dragon Boat & Dumpling Festival. Together with the main organiser,  the North Malaysia Leok Kooi Tong, we organised a vibrant Poetic Recitation Competition for schoolchildren, celebrating our rich cultural heritage and nurturing young talent.

Past President Peter Koay generously sponsored and choreographed a delightful dance performed by talented children, adding colour and energy to the celebration.

As a co-organiser of this meaningful event, LCGTM is proud to help bring the community together. Held at Straits Quay Marina Mall, the event attracted an enthusiastic crowd of nearly 2,000 spectators, making it a memorable day of culture, tradition, and community spirit.

We thanked Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, the Minister of Tourism & Culture, for gracing the occasion, as well as the participants, volunteers, and everyone who contributed to the success of this wonderful celebration. Together, we continue to preserve our traditions while inspiring the next generation.
